George Sand Born on This Date

French author George Sand (the pseudonym of French write Amandine Aurore Dupin) born this day in 1804. Sand was known not only for her writing, but for habit of public ally wearing men’s clothing and smoking. She had affairs with many men, most notably with the Polish composer Frederic Chopin. Her novels include Indiana, Consuelo, and Mauprat.
