Roethke Has a  “Mystical Experience” with a Tree

Theodore Roethke

Roethke, who suffered from manic-depressive episodes, claimed to have shared a mystical experience with a tree and to have learned the secret of Nijinsky (a Russian dancer who also suffered from mental illness) and during his night out.
